A line-of-sight microwave link uses highly directional transmitter and receiver antennas to communicate via a narrowly focused radio beam... As the term line of sight implies, this type of radio system developed from the idea that if You can see the distant end, then you can talk to it. This section deals with Point-to-point radio systems, which are usually setup on a permanent basis, to provide Communication links between two or more fixed locations. Line-of-sight propagation refers to electro-magnetic radiation or acoustic wave propagation. Electromagnetic transmission includes light emissions traveling in a straight line. The rays or waves may be diffracted, refracted, reflected, or absorbed by atmosphere and obstructions with material and generally cannot travel over the horizon or behind obstacles. Organization Structure This Center is responsible for knowledge transfer across project teams. After completion of each project, the experiences are presented through documents and interactive sessions. This Center also collects and maintains project data for ready reference and use.
